Description:
Épazote has a characteristic, slightly sweet and menthol aroma. It is used especially in the state of Yucatan for mole verde, salads, salsa and to flavor meats. Elemental is the Mexican herb for boiled and refried beans.
Usage:
Épazote should be used only at the end of the preparation, otherwise the dish may become bitter.
Known dishes:
Mole Verde, Frijoles de Olla.
Aroma/Taste:
Slightly sweet, menthol aroma, slightly bitter taste.

Mexican oregano, cumin, chili, coriander leaves.
