How to Prepare Tea Properly – The Perfect Enjoyment
To ensure your tea unfolds its full aroma, the right preparation is key. Here are the most important points:
- Water temperature: Not every tea can tolerate boiling water. Black tea and herbal tea can be steeped with 100°C water. Green tea and white tea are more delicate – 70-80°C is sufficient, otherwise it becomes bitter.
- Steeping time: Time is also crucial. Green tea steeps for only 2-3 minutes, black tea for 3-5 minutes, herbal tea and fruit tea often need 5-10 minutes to fully release their aroma.
- Water quality: Use fresh, soft water if possible. Stale or hard water can affect the taste.
- Amount: As a rule of thumb: one teaspoon per cup, for loose tea about 2-3 grams. For fruit tea, a little more can be used.
Our tip: Always store your tea in an airtight container, in a dry and dark place. This preserves the aroma and freshness for a long time.
Our Tea Categories – Find Your Favorite
To help you find your way around, we have divided our tea selection into clear categories. Here is an overview:
Herbal Tea – Natural and Soothing
Herbal tea is not only delicious but often also soothing. Classics like peppermint, chamomile, or mate are true all-rounders. Added to this are special blends like our herbal spice teas with anise, ginger, or cinnamon. Whether hot or cold as iced tea – herbal tea suits any time of day. With us, you will find a large selection of high-quality herbal teas.
Green Tea – Light and Refreshing
Green tea is becoming increasingly popular – and for good reason. It tastes fresh, slightly tart, and, depending on the variety, subtly sweet. The leaves are only briefly heated and not fermented, thus retaining many valuable ingredients. From mild Japanese varieties like Sencha to stronger Chinese teas like Chun Mee – you can get to know different green teas with us. Ideal for a refreshing break in between.
Black Tea – Classic and Strong
Black tea is the classic choice for morning or afternoon. Through complete fermentation, it develops its strong, malty aroma. Well-known varieties are Assam (strong, spicy), Darjeeling (fine, floral), or Ceylon (zesty, aromatic). Whether with a splash of milk, a piece of sugar, or pure – black tea is versatile and always a delight. Discover our selection of high-quality black teas from the best growing regions.
Fruit Tea – Colorful Variety for Young and Old
Fruit tea is a wonderful alternative for anyone who likes it fruity and refreshing. Rosehip, hibiscus, apple, berries – the combinations are diverse. Fruit tea tastes hot on cold days and is a real refreshment as iced tea in summer. Many of our fruit teas are naturally sweet and need no added sugar. Ideal for children and anyone looking for new taste experiences.
Other Teas – Oolong, White Tea & More
In addition to the main categories, we also carry special specialties. Oolong tea lies flavor-wise between green and black tea. White tea is particularly mild and noble. And our spiced teas – for example, with chai spices – warm you from the inside. Just have a look around, it's worth it!
