Description:
Mexican oregano has an intense, smoky, spicy, slightly lemony aroma due to its relationship with lemon verbena. It is used in Mexico and the southern United States for a variety of stews, often with beans as an ingredient. Very good for flavoring salsas, mole poblano and chili con carne.
Usage:
Use oregano more cautiously at first. It can tolerate longer cooking times and can be added early in the preparation.
