The Carolina Reaper Chili is believed to be a cross between Bih Jolokia and T-Butch Chili. Individual pods have been measured to have a peak heat of 2.2 million Scoville. The breeding goes back to "Smokin" Ed Currie, a farmer and chili entrepreneur from South Carolina, whose chili has held the title of "World's Hottest Chili" since 2013. Carolina Reaper Chili tastes like its "relatives" tropical-fruity and fits, if you can tolerate it, to Caribbean dishes, South Asian and also American Southern cuisine. Please dose carefully!
