Savory rubbed

Product information "Savory"

also: Kölle, pepperwort

Description:
Savory has been known since ancient times. Until other spices reached Europe it was one of the hottest spices used. Its aroma is somewhat smoky and reminiscent of thyme with a slight hint of pepper. Savory is native to the Mediterranean region, especially the eastern part and North Africa.

Savory is often used for the preparation of beans of any kind. Besides, it harmonizes with rabbit, fatty fish, lamb and roast poultry. In the United States, savory is traditionally used to season Thangsgiving turkey.

Because of its pungency, savory is suitable for long braised meat and vegetable dishes. It can therefore be added to the cooking early.

"Thanksgiving" turkey, Za'tar spice blend.
