Description:
Fleur de Sel is a byproduct of the extraction of sea salt. In the salt marshes, an interaction of sun and wind creates small islands of the precious salt, which are removed by salt workers. Genuine Fleur de Sel (the term is not protected, so you can also find moist sea salt under this name in the trade) can be recognized by the fine structure of the salt crystals, which can be rubbed effortlessly between the fingers and melt quickly on the tongue. And this is what makes this salt so special in terms of taste. It goes wonderfully with everything short fried, especially high quality fish and meat.
This fleur de sel comes from the French commune of Guérande.
Usage:
We recommend using Fleur de Sel only for seasoning or for the final seasoning of the food, as it has no difference in taste to sea salt when dissolved in water.
Tip for high-quality beef steaks: Sprinkle the finished steak generously with Fleur de Sel and freshly ground Tellycherry pepper. The salt crystals will melt onto the meat juices and make an excellent sauce!
Be sure to store the salt in an airtight container! You want it to stay moist.
