Description:
Aleppo pepper is a relatively mild chile variety originally cultivated in large quantities around the northern Syrian city and used throughout the Middle East. The nickname "pepper" is due to the translation from American cookbooks (Chili Pepper) in which the chili is very often mentioned. In Europe, this variety has been almost unavailable.
The strong red colored chili has a moderate pungency and a distinct fruity aroma. It goes excellently with braised lamb dishes, swoie minced meat and bean dishes and is often used as a topping for creams and vegetable pastes. Also works very well as a table condiment to add spice.
