Description:
The Australian desert lime is native to the outback regions of Queensland and New South Wales. The grape-sized fruits have a distinct, fruity-tart citrus aroma and are a classic ingredient in bush tucker.
Desert lime pairs well with fish and seafood, veal and poultry, and salads. In Australia, it is mainly used to prepare creamy desserts and to sprinkle on fruit cakes.
Usage:
The powder should be added toward the end of cooking, as it can become bitter with prolonged cooking times.
